We at Elite 11 plus tuition provide regulate feedback of how child is progressing. A periodic summary of childs progress an an individual and relative to group will be provided. Additionally, we provide period progress emails with more in-depth feedback about your child’s progress and  provide  a learning pathway for your child to help them reach their individual goals.

At Elite 11 plus tuition, we try our best to know child as an individual, thereby providing them specific feedback and learning paths based on the child’s current performance and skill level. In our experience this generally boosts your child’s confidence and motivation for learning and provides them a specific learning pathway and framework to make progress in their 11+ exam preparation.

In theory, 11+ tests should assess children’s innate academic ability (across a combination of verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and maths), rather than what they’ve been taught by an external provider like tuition teacher, parents etc. However based on our experience we believe it is NOT possible to have 11 + examination  ‘tutor-proof’.

 

All students have varied level of academic foundation and will accordingly need calibrated levels of coaching , personalised teaching and exam practice to achieve their potential by excelling in 11+ examination.

Morever the skils and foundational knowledge pertaining to Maths and English are NOT taught in all primary state schools, so in essence realistically all children aiming to pass 11 plus examination, need to prepare for the 11 plus test format in depth using the support of a 11 plus tuition service.

So in reality it is generally difficult to pass 11 plus test without focused coaching. Having said that you will always find an exception to this rule.In our view these exceptiosn are outlier rather then the norm.

 

More importantly, for super-selective schools across the country you will find that many students who pass the stage 1 and stage 2 of 11 plus test have been tutored and coach ( for 1 to 2 years) to various degrees.

In conclusion, focused ,methodical and strategic preparation for 11 plus definitely enhances the child’s chances of getting into the grammar school of their choice especially the super selective ones!

It depends on the student. Generally speaking based on our experience, one of the biggest advantage of group tuition, where the group consist of similarly abled students, all aiming for same set of grammar school, is that the student as well parent get to know about child’s progress and performance relative to the group.

Yes Elite 11 plus tuition provide tutoring in a group setting however the key is they are assessed individually and assessed relative to the group performance.

This gives parents a good view of the students progress relative to the group performance.

We at Elite 11 plus tuition use a combination of standard books along with specialist material prepared in house. Parent of the students will be told which books they need to buy and when they need to buy based on the progress in tuition.

Yes we provide regular weekly home work. The students will be able to get maximum benefit from the tuition only if they complete weekly home work which in turn will help to consolidate their learning and increase their requisite skills.

The students aiming to secure a place in super selective grammar schools like St Olave ,Wilson Grammar School or Newstead Grammar school should ideally start preparing in year 4 onward. The earlier you start preparing more time you will have to put in the necessary effort to achieve success.

At Elite 11 plus tuition,we start preparing from year 4 and year 5,so in the time of 2 years we have sufficient time to learn creative writing skills based on our specialist learning material and tools.

The 11 plus examination is based on Maths and English. All our students learn the skills and knowledge to excel in both papers. To secure a place in top grammar school the students needs to perform well in both Maths and English ( VR , Comprehension & Creative writing) paper.

We try to assess the child’s suitability however the key thing is they should be ready to put in the requisite effort to learn the knowledge and skills to excel in 11 plus examination.
