The Skinners’ School in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent is a selective grammar school for boys aged 11-18 .The selection is based on 11 plus Kent examination.Boys are admitted from 11 years old .
The Skinners’ school has a specialist status in science. Most students come from West Kent but a significant number come from East Sussex. The school works in partnership with two other local grammar schools in the provision of
post-16 courses.
The Skinner school is 125 years old andis connected to the distinguished London Livery Company of the same name, which goes back to the fourteenth century.
From 1887 to the present day, Skinners’ boys have achieved many distinctions – in music, science, athletics, rugby, drama and business. The school encourages both academic excellence and the personal development of all students.
The Skinners’ School is part of the Kent Co-ordinated Secondary School Admission.

Entrance to Year 7 is via a Kent 11 Plus Test which determines whether or not candidates are of the School’s required standard for a selective education. Kent 11 plus test (PESE)is a new adopted version of previous 11 + test.This test assess pupil’s ability in numerical and literary understanding. The Kent 11 plus test has following multiple choice format tests : 1)Maths & English test Note: There is a West Kent catchment area from which school offers 140 places; then there is an Outer Area from which has 20 places. |
